1. Download the TailTrax app to your mobile device.

2. Open the TailTrax app & select “Sign Up”.

3. Enter your first & last name, then select “Continue”.

4. Enter your email address, create & confirm a password for your account, read & agree to the EULA, then select “Continue”.

You’ll be automatically logged in to your TailTrax account and taken to the Dashboard.

Note: Once you’ve signed into the TailTrax app, you will remain signed in unless you specifically sign out of the app, attempt to access the app without an internet connection, or install an update for the app.

1. Select “+ Add Family” in the top-right corner of your screen to establish a name for your family of pets, then select “Done”.

2. Select “+ Add Pet” in the top-right corner of your screen to establish a profile for your pet.

• When creating a profile for your pet you must at least provide a name for your pet; everything else is optional!

• To add more than 1 pet to your account, you’ll need access to the premium features of the app.

3. Other things you can do from your Dashboard:

Vet Helpline. TailTrax users can connect with a Vet Nurse anytime and anywhere, with the touch of this button (requires access to the premium features of the app).

Pet Insurance. Want to learn about Pet Insurance for your pet or have an existing policy administered by PetPartners Inc.

• Existing policyholders with a portal account can view and manage important policy information through this tile.

• Non-policyholders can select this tile to learn more about pet insurance and obtain a quote.

PetPlace. This icon takes you to PetPlace.com, a site just for pet parents with the latest pet health news and tips.

Clinics. No matter where you travel, you can always find a nearby pet clinic with the tap of this button.

Boarding. Find nearby places to board your pet(s) while you’re away.

Parks. Locate the closest dog parks, no matter where you roam!

Hotels. Finding pet-friendly hotels can be tricky. This hotel locator helps you find hotels that have marked themselves as accepting furry guests.

Restaurants. Wondering if your pet can dine with you? Find pet-friendly restaurants with a touch of this button.

There are two ways to reset your password for the TailTrax app:

1. If you are not logged into the app you’ll need to open the app & select “Login”.

a. Under the “Continue” button, select “Forgot Password?”

b. Enter your email address, then select “Reset Password”

c. You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

2. If you are logged into the app you’ll need to select “Account” from the bottom-right corner of your screen on the navigation bar.

a. Select “Edit Information”.

b. Select “Change Password”.

c. Enter the new password you would like to use, confirm the new password, then select “Change Password”.

You can begin using your new password from here on out!

Users with access to premium features of the app can:

1. Access the Vet Helpline.

2. Create more than 1 pet profile.

Interested in having access to the premium features of the app? All you need to do is attempt to use any of the premium features listed above and a prompt will appear with different subscription options for you to choose from.

Note: If you have an active policy administered by PetPartners Inc., you automatically receive access to the premium features of the app and do not need to purchase a subscription through your device’s app store.

For information on creating a pet profile for the first time, see Getting Started.

1. Select the icon belonging to the pet you want to update profile information for.

2. Locate the information you wish to change & enter the new details.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the profile details & select “Save Profile”.

The new and/or editing information you provided has now been saved.

Note: If you ever need to delete a pet’s profile, you can do so by scrolling to the bottom of the pet’s profile & selecting “Delete Pet”. Doing this will permanently delete all information related to your pet (including associated health records) from the TailTrax app.

1. Select the icon belonging to the pet you want to create a health record for.

2. Select the “Records” tab just below your pet’s icon.

3. Select a category you’d like to assign this health record to.

• You may also create your own category.

• You must first select one category to assign the record to before you’ll be able to assign it to multiple categories (see step 6 below).

4. Select “Add Record” to create a new health record for your pet.

5. Add Information. Enter any pertinent details you wish to include in the record.

• When creating a health record for your pet you must at least provide a name for the record; everything else is optional!

• You can also create a reminder. for the health record if it’s related to a vaccine or medication.

6. Select Categories. Select any additional categories you wish to assign this record to.

• You may also create your own category.

7. Select “Save Record”.

The record you just saved will now appear under any category you chose to assign it to.

Note: Updating or deleting a record within 1 category, will also update or delete the same record assigned to additional categories.

There are two ways create a new category for health records:

1. Before creating a new record you’ll want to select “Add New Category” from below the available categories listed on the Record tab.

a. Enter the name for the new category you wish to create.

b. Select “Save Category”.

c. You’ll be taken back to the Records tab & the category you’ve created will now be listed.

2. While you are creating a new record you’ll want to select “Add New Category” from below the available categories listed.

a. Enter the name for the new category you wish to create.

b. Select “Save Category”.

c. You’ll be taken back to the record you were creating & the category you’ve created will now be available to select from.

Note: Don’t forget to select “Save Record”!

Note: Creating a new category within 1 pet’s profile will make it available to choose from within your other pet’s profiles. Currently you are unable to edit or delete categories once they are established.


Begin with an existing record or create a new record & have selected the name of the medication from the available ones listed.

1. In the “Medication” section of the record, tap on the toggle button to the right of where it says “Reminder is OFF” to change it to “Reminder is ON”.

2. Tap on the first empty field to select from two types of reminders available:

Specific Date/Time. This is best used when you only need to give a medication at one specific time in the future.

Date/Time Interval. This is best used when you need to give your pet a medication on a regular basis.

Reminder Type: Specific Date/Time

1. Enter the specific date when you need to administer the medication.

2. Enter the time for when you’d like to be reminded to administer the medication.

• The time entered must be using a 12-hour clock format and include 4 digits (i.e. 1pm would be entered as “01:00” & the “PM” radio dial selected).

Note: Don’t forget to select “Save Record”!

Reminder Type: Date/Time Interval

1. Tap on the first two empty fields to indicate the frequency at which the reminder should occur (i.e. Every 2 Hours).

2. Enter the date when this should begin to remind you to administer the medication.

3. Enter the time for when this reminder should begin.

• The time entered must be using a 12-hour clock format and include 4 digits (i.e. 1pm would be entered as “01:00” & the “PM” radio dial selected).

Note: Don’t forget to select “Save Record”!


Begin with an existing record or create a new record, have selected the name of the vaccine from the available ones listed, & indicated the expiration date for the vaccine.

1. In the “Vaccines” section of the record, tap on the toggle button to the right of where it says “Reminder is OFF” to change it to “Reminder is ON”.

2. Tap on the first two empty fields to indicate the interval at which the reminder should occur before the expiration date (i.e. 1 Month).

3. Enter the time for when this reminder should occur.

• The time entered must be using a 12-hour clock format and include 4 digits (i.e. 1pm would be entered as “01:00” & the “PM” radio dial selected).

Note: Don’t forget to select “Save Record”!

There are two ways to connect with a Vet Nurse after selecting the “Vet Helpline” button in the TailTrax app:

1. Call. By selecting “Call”, your device will dial a toll-free 800 number that will connect you with an available Vet Nurse.

2. Chat. By selecting “Chat”, you will be taken to a web form to provide additional information before you’re connected with an available Vet Nurse.

Note: Whether you decide to connect via phone call or chat, you or the Vet Nurse may start a one-way video chat. This allows the Vet Nurse to see what you are describing, but you are still unable to see the Vet Nurse. Please follow the instructions provided by the Vet Nurse to establish the video chat connection.
